Accrington Stanley suffered a decisive 3-0 defeat against Oldham Athletic in their final League Two match of the season. The Latics secured a comfortable victory, with goalkeeper Mat Hudson setting a new club record for clean sheets, while Stanley finished the campaign in 16th place.

Oldham broke the deadlock in the 26th minute when defender Dynel Simeu powerfully headed home Kane Taylor's diagonal ball, leaving Accrington Stanley goalkeeper Oliver Wright with no chance. This early goal set the tone for Oldham's control of the game.

Despite their dominance, Oldham didn't extend their lead until the 64th minute. A flowing move involving Kai Payne and Tom Pett culminated in Kane Taylor side-footing the ball into the top corner, doubling the advantage against Stanley.

Defender Will Sutton, who had moved up front after veteran striker Joe Garner's early second-half substitution, completed the scoring. Sutton headed in from a corner he had earned through his excellent hold-up play, sealing the 3-0 win for Oldham.

Accrington Stanley struggled to test Mat Hudson for much of the game, with the Oldham keeper making only routine saves. However, late in the match, Hudson produced a brilliant double stop, first denying Conor Grant from distance and then Paddy Madden on the rebound, preserving his record-breaking clean sheet. The result confirmed Oldham's top-half finish in 10th place, while Accrington Stanley concluded their League Two season in 16th position.
